TYPINGPILOT

Privacy, in plain language.

Understand how TypingPilot handles local documents, typing results, printable reports, browser storage and hosting data.

Documents and typing

For individual practice, TXT, DOCX and text-based PDF files are read in your browser. PDF software loads only when you choose a PDF. Document contents and typed text are not sent to our application server. They remain in the active page and are discarded when you close or reload it.

Local preferences and results

Browser storage holds your theme and up to 100 summary results: date, language, mode, timing, speed, accuracy and device category. It does not hold uploaded text or a complete keystroke history. Clear results in My progress or remove site data through browser settings.

Reports

An optional report name stays in the active page. Printing and PDF saving use your browser. You choose where to store or share exported reports.

Hosting and external resources

The hosting provider processes requests and may retain technical logs, including IP addresses, paths and security events. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which receives the information needed to serve those requests. The owner panel uses a secure session cookie and a password-protected account. MySQL stores the password hash, editorial settings, guides, IndexNow logs and hashed IP identifiers for login throttling. Visitors do not need an account.

Search engines

When enabled, IndexNow sends public page URLs to participating search engines. Personal documents and practice results are never included. This version has no advertising or third-party analytics scripts.

Classroom exams

Classroom exams are separate from browser-only practice. Teacher accounts, student names or identifiers, exam texts, submitted answers, grades and review history are stored on this server. The relevant teacher can view and export their class records. Individual codes grant access to a student’s attempts: keep them private. Contact the teacher or site owner to request correction or deletion.

Member accounts

Email registration is active immediately without email verification. We store your name, email, password hash (if used), preferences and optional teacher profile. Google sign-in stores a Google account identifier and the email/name shared with your permission; it does not give us access to your Google password or documents. Practice history stays in your browser. Classroom exam data is stored on the server. Contact the site owner for account access, correction or deletion requests.
