Get comfortable with French accents
Practice é, è, ê and ç in real words, at your own pace.
Practice words you actually use
Choose French in the test and keep accents enabled. Familiar words such as école, fenêtre, déjà, garçon and français make a better starting point than an isolated row of symbols.
Check your keyboard layout
The keys used to enter accents depend on your operating system and keyboard layout. Confirm the layout you use every day before practicing. A French AZERTY keyboard and an international QWERTY keyboard do not enter all accented letters the same way.
Separate practice from assessment
You may switch off accent sensitivity to focus on basic rhythm. Turn it back on when you want a realistic French typing result. The report records this setting so that you can compare like with like.
Bring your own paragraph
Paste a short French paragraph or upload a DOCX document. Review the extracted text and practice it slowly. Repeat the words you find difficult before moving to a longer passage.
Make progress gradually
Accented characters may require extra key combinations. Give yourself time to learn the movement. Track French results separately from English results instead of treating a difference in speed as a problem.
Put it into practice.
Take a test, review your results, and find your next small improvement.
